Meet Dr. Ross Remmer

“If Shakespeare was correct when he said ‘the eyes are the window to your soul,’ then surely the smile is the window to the personality. What lights up a room, calms a raging heart, or exudes comfort more than a smile? It has been my joyful purpose over the last 35 years to do my best to create beautiful healthy smiles. Our wonderful team of certified orthodontic assistants and appointment coordinators share this goal. As a group, we do our utmost to achieve the most ideal orthodontic result we can for all our patients.” — Dr. Remmer

After receiving his dental training, Dr. Remmer spent two years providing dental treatment as a Cuso International volunteer in West Africa. He returned to Canada and general practice for five years before receiving a diploma in dental public health. He took a position with the school-based Saskatchewan Dental Plan. Upon receiving his Master of Clinical Dentistry in orthodontics from the University of Western Ontario, he started his orthodontic practice in Saskatoon.

Dr. Remmer served on the board of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and is a regent of the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation. He is a member of both the American and Canadian Associations of Orthodontists and is a clinical instructor at the College of Dentistry, University of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Remmer and his wife reside in Toronto. Enjoying the out of doors, Dr. Remmer has been an avid kayaker and white-water canoeist paddling in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories. He always enjoyed alpine and Nordic skiing, particularly in the Banff area and in boreal Saskatchewan.

He is a two-time president of Nutana Kiwanis Club, former Big Brother, Boy Scout leader in Saskatoon, and a member of the United Church of Canada.

* Dr. Remmer has retired from the Saskatoon office, but continues to practice in our Prince Albert office. *
